What It’s Like Here
January 4th, 2012 § 26 Comments
It occurred to me reading my Australian friends’ blogs that I am fascinated by life where they are — where all of you are no matter what country — what life is LIKE there…and I thought I’d try to do a picture post trying to capture the essence of this part of the United States… at least for us, this is what it’s like here…you have to close your eyes and pretend its about 7 degrees farenheit (-13 C). (Sorry for the repeats — I can’t seem to get the gallery quite right…) Anyone up for a meme? Perhaps until the end of January? — if so just link in the comments that you’re interested in doing it and we’ll keep looking for it on your blog. I really am interested in what it’s like where YOU are.

Oh, I LOVE this. I will be looking at this pictures over and over again. And I will definitely put my own post up when I can get it together. Though that might take a while…
this is such a good idea!

I just wanted to let you know that I’m going to put this up some time today. Should I post a link here?
Yes, absolutely — I tried to figure out the linky thing but its way to high tech for me! Please do post a link so other people can find you — that would be great — I can’t wait to see it — I loved the picture post you put up of your morning…
[...] over at Bloodsigns recently posted an extraordinary photo collage entitled What It’s Like Here. I was so captivated that I decided to attempt capturing a bit of what it’s like here, during [...]
Ok, it’s up. What It’s Like Here: San Francisco in January. http://esperanzasays.wordpress.com/2012/01/05/what-its-like-here/
fantastic! I truly want to live there.
Beautiful pictures! Such a great idea.
Thanks Rachel — sometimes I just can’t gather the right words…
I will do this too sometime next week probably – though I can’t match the gorgeous quality of your photos! Really loved this post.
Yay!I can’t wait to see your post!
What a great idea! I love seeing your life in pictures. It makes me (and probably everyone else!) want to come visit you!
Come!
Is that wolf or a gigantic DOG? Ohmigod, how do you put in all those photos? Okay, I’m in, if I can figure out what the hell I’m doing. But not until next Friday I think. Got a Buddhist presentation to do at the community centre this coming Tuesday night. Wish me luck!
Good Luck!
That’s a beautiful wolf at this place that does wolf education stuff — they have this amazing facility and raise money for wolf preservation…I’ve been thinking of you! Can’t wait to see your pictures!
Of course, today I discover there’s a problem with my camera. Oh man.
Damn! It’s an open invitation to post it, of course — I’d love to see it — I remember when I first read your blog I was certain you lived someplace warm — I can’t remember why I thought that???

Oh, no, it’s not warm at the moment, but it’s warmer than say, where you live.!
What a cool idea! Hmmm . . . I wonder what I can put together. It shames me sometimes to realize how many days have passed since I got my camera out. This is the perfect excuse to start snapping away!!
I happen to know that someone you know has instagram — this would be an easy way to do it — nudge nudge wink wink….
This is a magical project. I am not the best photographer, more of a stylist, but I am going to try to get a post up for this. Inspired idea!
I’d so love to see it — I’ve always felt that we get a little window into people’s world’s through their words, their allusions –but the visual is so immediate. Anytime if you decide to do it I’ll link to you! Just read about your illness week — here too — and caregiving when you’re sick so blows…but I loved your take on it. If I can block out the vision of her puking all over me at 3am out of my head I’ll try to focus on the closeness part…xoxo
I did it!!
